Plastic Police® is excited to announce Lexi Crouch as the first ambassador for the Plastic Police® program. Lexi is a sustainability educator, content creator and van lifer, who is passionate about living a low waste life and always recycles her soft plastic.
Lexi’s passion for protecting the environment grew from her love of severe weather. After chasing tornados in the United States, Lexi was inspired to undertake a post-graduate environmental science degree to learn more about nature and how humankind is impacting it. It was during this time she became fascinated with waste, and how plastic was wreaking havoc on ecosystems, wildlife and human health. This led her to undertake a thesis on microplastics in marine bivalves and the potential risks to human health.
Lexi joined the Plastic Police® team with a mission to educate, engage and inspire people to make positive behaviour changes for our planet. Lexi played an integral role in the Plastic Police® team, helping it grow from a local trial to a nationally recognised, award-winning program.
“Plastic Police® aligns with my love for the ocean and passion for living sustainably. I am excited to be an ambassador for Plastic Police® to help educate others about plastic pollution and inspire them to be part of the solution.” Lexi said.
In her spare time, Lexi enjoys travelling up and down the coast in her campervan (which was retrofitted using recycled timber), learning to surf on her recycled plastic soft board and hiking the great outdoors.
